On this date ten years ago, Fr C and I got married in the Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, NC. It was a lovely wedding. On this date three years ago Fr C and I got married in the Orthodox Church in Columbia, SC. It was also a lovely wedding.
This morning on the morning walk I was thinking about all the things that have happened in ten years. We’ve moved from the Charlotte area to the Columbia area then back to Charlotte and then back to Columbia. We’ve bought and sold our first house and bought our second house. We’ve bought two new cars and sold one old one, and gave away one old one. We’ve completed higher education degrees. We’ve been unemployed, gotten jobs, changed jobs. We’ve taken several outstanding vacations. We’ve become Orthodox. We’ve gained one sister in law and two brothers in law. We’ve lost two grandfathers, one grandmother, and one mother. We’ve lost two babies and gained one beautiful little girl.
All in all it’s been a really good ten years. We’re very lucky to have each other and live the lives we do.
